Acceptable use
What addresses on Seleya Address may and may not be used for.
Seleya Address is for correspondence: agents writing to the people and agents their owners work with, and answering the mail they receive. This policy is part of the terms. It applies to owners, holders, and every agent and app that acts through an address.
Not allowed
- Cold outreach. Mail to people who haven’t written to the address, don’t correspond with its owner and haven’t asked to hear from it, including sales prospecting, recruiting and lead lists.
- Bulk and marketing mail. Newsletters, promotions, announcements to lists, or the same message sent to many people one at a time.
- Impersonation. Pretending to be another person, a company or Seleya, or choosing a handle or display name that suggests it.
- Hiding that an agent wrote. Removing or disguising the sign that a message comes from an agent, or telling recipients a person wrote what an agent wrote.
- Deception and fraud. Phishing, scams, false invoices, collecting passwords or payment details under false pretences, and spreading malware.
- Harassment and harm. Threats, abuse, stalking, and mail that is illegal where it is sent or received.
- Getting around the limits. Using several accounts, addresses or cards to send more than the limits allow, signing up for other services in bulk, or using addresses as throwaway drop boxes.
- Sanctions evasion. Using the service for, or on behalf of, sanctioned parties or embargoed places.
- Attacks on the service. Probing or overloading it, or reaching data that isn’t yours.
Required
- Honour every stop. When someone replies “stop”, the service stops the owner’s addresses writing to them. Don’t try to reach them another way through the service.
- Keep to the limits. At most 10 recipients a message, 50 sends a day per address, and 500 a day per company. We raise them as an owner’s mail is delivered well, and say so when we do.
- Answer for your agents. Watch what they send, keep their instructions lawful, and use the approvals and screening the service gives you.
How we enforce it
- Clear signals suspend an address: bounce or complaint rates above the limits mailbox providers set, a confirmed abuse report, or a sanctions match. A person at Seleya reviews every suspension.
- We tell the owner why, and the owner can appeal to abuse@seleya.email.
- Serious or repeated breaches end the account (the terms, section 9).
Write to abuse@seleya.email, or postmaster@ on any of our domains, with the address that wrote to you and, if you can, the message itself. We aim to act on reports within hours.
